After a 3 month gruesome no life study retreat, the exams are finally over! It’s a great time to celebrate with a nice relaxing photoshoot of the Helix bridge. Mr Seah came along to learn about night shoots. But basically, it’s just use tripod, up exposure time, a little bit ISO and your aperture to 22 for the starburst effect and close eyes to shoot. That’s how you do night shoots. Basically. The rest is up to your composition and eyes for creativity.

I wasn’t really confident of the way I completed the paper. So many things forgotten. I have a bad memory, but a decent heuristic memory space to look at things to refer back and remember. So the memorise and vomit kind of exams are quite harsh on me. I’m more for applying knowledge and gaining it through experience. Wish I had a photographic memory, sometimes

The Helix was erected a few months back to connect the Marina Bay area to the Resort World IR. It takes the form of the DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid. Bored with nothing to do, I scouted around for good places to shoot before meeting up with mr Seah. Awesome architecture design. Aim of the day, my first photo shoot must produce awesome and majestic photos to portray the magnificence of this bridge.

Back at CJC! Yay! It’s been a LONG while since I was back here. maybe 2 years? We’re here to create and relive our memories we had here in honor of the union of Francis and Lijuan! It’s a very rare opportunity to see so many batches of CJ ODAC people together. To make things more on the epic scale, we have Mr Issac Lim, our beloved and respected teacher who started CJ ODAC. But wait who’s that tall handsome guy in the back? It’s Brother Paul, our principal during our time =D

When I stepped into the school, i could feel all the energy surging back into me. All the training and endurance and lessons we learnt from our personal obstacles all cam be in a flash. The feeling was so nostalgic. The assembly court has been revamped. I could still remember we climbed all the way up to the top of that building using ropes. ah…

Here’s Mr Issac Lim, the ODAC teacher. He’s a very good mentor, always guiding us to push ourselves forward, getting the right attitude and correct frequency, the appreciation of the people around you, the respect you earn and the better understanding and for the nature around us. He’s a guy I respect a lot. I still remember he asked me during the end of day briefing at outside Temburong caves. “Wilson, do you think you want to join ODAC?” I was shagged dead from the sleep deprived days of the expedition. Tired from the heavy backpack I carried up the mountains and down. Why was I doing this? I could have joined the computer club or something slacker. But why ODAC?

With what little ounce of strength left in me, I gave a answer. “Yes.” I believe that there’s is more to the world that looking at the world from the computer screens. More to experience. More to feel. More to appreciate. More to understand. I wanted to push myself more than ever. I refuse to stay in a smooth flowing lifestyle, without any excitement and taking everything for granted. So I became determined to see things from a much different angle of a pampered lifestyle.

I went on to join these crazy bunch of people running up and down mountains, singing around a gas lamp at night, jumping into rivers, running away from bees and hornets, letting around blood being sucked dry by leeches. That’s is more to life than staring at crowds walking by in a shopping district. More to that.

Like what Francis and Lijuan had been through together. The difficulties they faced and great fun memories they all had. ODAC is part of their lives, and of all the CJ ODAC members that the CJ ODAC spirit has touched, inspired and changed. My life in ODAC has inspired me into photography.

I would touch on that a while later. Congrats to Francis and Lijuan!!

Project work. !#@$@#$%#$

So much frustration to rush a project in midst of 3 papers. WTF.

Then with each new edited file sent flying around the internet in the emails. No proper labelling, no proper consolidation, no proper email reply system or acknowledgement or urgency to send the needed files = lots of time spent idling, waiting for mails.

Next time you start a project with a long term thingy. Set the following:

- rules. !@#@#$ I hate them, but they work

- proper format of the latest version of the files sent

- REPLY BACK TO THE GOD DAMNED EMAIL SENT PREVIOUSLY

- set up a file collection email for everyone to access

-Or even better, use Microsoft OneNote’s synchronisation function for the documents.

When everyone is working and rushing so hard, any tiny bit of the fucking attitude to avoid  the responsibilties to do things because it is troublesome, is seriously getting on my nerves.

 …

For the next 3 weeks, it’s officially Hell Weeks. Last week of clincials for this month. Last week till the exams! It’s getting more stressful every minute. When I get back from home, I tried to flip a few pages to study. The energy expended for the day is too much. The moment I touched the soft surface of the bed, I’m KO’ed. How the hell do I revise?

2 weeks of exams. Then It’s CNY! I haven’t done shopping yet. But, I gotta study. I can’t even go out much anymore.

One word for the week: ARGH!

I forgot how to smile…

BBQ at Sharon’s house! A slight drizzle that started with the smoldering smoke of the burning charcoal. The girls wanted a try on how to start a bbq fire, they did a pretty good job too. =)

Pretty much talking around with the irritating me going around snapping pics. Pool was pretty fun when teaching out lecturer how to play that game! Then distracting each other while trying to focus for an aim at the ball… LOL! Pretty fun night!
