The Last Part of Europe

IMG_8202

Flowers for you!

The last part of the Europe trip time line. I’m not going to delay this post any more… Need to get back to my regular bloggings. Anyways, not much pics taken in London due to architecture saturation. Plus, it’s pretty gloomy over there with the ever grey skies. This is the longest post of the 4 =) Enjoy!
18/9/07 [Day 5]

IMG_8254

FR1530 – Reached St Pierre! Walked one big round up the hill. Worst still, we mistook this as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Wasted far too much time here. =(

FR2030 – Down the tower. =( I wanted to stay longer…

IMG_8452

FR2100 – Another place to see the whole tower! Just 15 minutes to shoot. Grr…
-Got to find a good spot, set up tripod, adjust settings. Pray for people to get out of my view. All that in 5 minutes. And shoot. And pray the shots turn out good. Damn, on a proper shoot I would need like 30 – 40 minutes to settle the settings and admire its beauty at the same time. DAMN THE SHORT TIME. Argh.

IMG_8439

FR2115 – Being reluctantly pulled back to the bus, with the camera in one hand, holding the tripod with the other, trying to close the tripod with my third hand. Rushed. Argh. Personal note: Come back here in the future, with someone, or alone. Just come back here. >.>

FR2200 – Back at the Hotel. Why can’t they give us more time here at the tower? /whine.

FR2300 – Party at my room again! Just finish the horrible tasting beer already!

FR0100 – Sleep

FR0530 – Board the bus. Then sleep amidst all the blabberings. Then watching the trees by the road fly by in a fuzzy hue of green. Heading for the ferry to UK. Those types that you can load vehicles up yeah?

IMG_8466

FR1000 – board the ferry! Walking around the side deck. Enjoying the strong winds of the British coasts.

IMG_8650

- Outside Westminster Abbey. Until I got back to Singapore, I had totally no idea that Sir Issac Newton and Charles Darwin were buried inside. Really regretted that, could have paid 10 pounds and gone in to pay my respects to such amazing people and their discoveries…. I like their work, especially Charles Darwin’s. Argh!!

IMG_8638

- Big Ben!

IMG_8644

- More around Big Ben!

UK1430 – Back on the bus to Oxford street! More Shopping!

UK 1530 – Reached Oxford Street

- While the rest were on thier own shopping, I went down from Marble Arch station to Oxford Circus alone just to find all Borders.. In this feat, I covered about 3/4 of Oxford street. Going to and fro from one station to another is really really tirin, with all the camera stuff. Thank goodness I left the tripod in the hotel. Got my Harry Potter books! yay! IMG_8691

DE2030 – Flight to SG!!
- This is one 12 hours flight. The one 12 hour flight that I couldn’t sleep.

23/09/07 [Day 10]

SG1600 – I’m home! Yay! Not that relieved yet, LOTS of firefighting to do…. That’s another time =)

That’s all about the Europe trip! Fun and interesting, yup. I don’t think I can fully describe it in words. Maybe two words to add in, magical and surreal.

A little drama in between the end, but that’s an experience and a lesson learnt. =)

About leaving home and such, I’m a wanderer. I was once overseas for 21 days, 3/4 of it spent in the wilderness and mountains. Not one bit of homesickness. Same for this trip =) I could go on, if the budget allows =P Thanks for reading!

P.S: I can’t believe I spent 3 hours making this entry >.<
