Europe Part 3
The wanderings in a foreign city bring about many adventures!
The metro in Paris… It can be confusing at the interchanges sometimes. Long winding mazes those places are. Once you get lost, you will end up in another part of Paris. Just like that.
On this part, We get to have a free and easy time from morning to evening to roam around Paris. Thanks to the uber detailed planning by Sharon, we had places to go! (Printing of the maps by Joanne, I help with a little of the maps) Not wasting time like the rest of the groups deciding where to go. =)
The whole set of photos for the trip can be found here.
17/09/07 [Day 4]
FR0600 – Wake up!
FR0630 – Breakfast
FR0750 – Set of for our journey! We’re a little late >.<
FR0800 – Reached hoche Metro after a small walk from the hotel.
FR0820 – Cite Metro
FR0843 – Notre Dame! Very beautiful cathedral in white.
FR0945 – Just nearby, St Chapelle church was situated in some department of Justice. So all the security checks to get into the church. Sadly the church was under-renovation when we got in =(
FR1130 – A walk about 800m crossing the river to the Pantheon!
FR1200 – After much hanging around, time to get on the metro to the Lourve
FR1230 – Reached Lourve Metro
- Lunch at some food court, ordered a 11 euro Lasagne *Ouch*
FR1330 – Into the Louvre we go! The biggest Museum in the World, where the Mono Lisa resides. You’ll need at least one whole day to view all the art pieces on display.
- Hanging outside of the Lourve
FR1530 – Time to get moving! Took metro at the Lourve to Franklin D. Roosevelt Metro. The start of the Champ Elysses
- Walking down Champ Elysses with all its nice shops. The final stretch for the Tour de France. =) Some went off from the group to shop at the streets, while a few of us went on to the Arch de Triumphe.
- The magnificient Arc de Triumphe !
FR1715 – Gotta rush from the Arc to the meeting place at Opera! The Arc was too beautiful to be left in a rush… Rush hour = squeeze. My bag got stuck in the train door. People outside frantically pushed it in , Pearlyn was hovering in the air due to the squeeze. We were packed sardines, unlike in SG.
FR1735 – Reached Opera! Back on the bus to Chinatown for dinner.
FR1800 – Dinner in Chinatown was nice! Much better service than all the previous ones.
- Bought lozenges from the pharmacy. They don’t understand English, so i have to converse in my broken Cantonese >.< Nice service though.
FR2000 – Ferry ride down the river (I forgot what river was it called.) Cold, wet, freezing. Drizzling. “It’s the wind that kills” But nice pics!
FR2150 – back to the hotel!
FR0100 – Sleep!
Next part! Versailles Palace! Then Off to the UK!
The last part here.
